RECAP BERLIN MARATHON BIG 3
On this note we started out with a very special opening night where Berlin Braves founder Joey Elgersma had the honour of introducing a panel discussion with former olympic athlete Patrick Sang, the coach of marathon rocket Eliud Kipchoge and Knox Robinson, captain of Black Roses NYC.
This very intimate and inspirational talk titled Insight and intell on unlocking the mind to become a master of the marathon was not only eye-opening in terms of the actual impact that a certain way of thinking and power of mind have when it comes to performance but also provided deep insight into the many layers playing into the mental state.
Ringing in the BTG weekend, the talk was followed up by East African Street food, the release of a brand-new running singlet in our Pop-Up-Store and an extended night of talks and reuniting with old friends.
For Saturday Runpack and KRAFT Runners provided the BTG community with a day filled with workshops and the usual Shake Out Run on the grounds of BRLO Brewery in the heart of Berlin. This last pre-marathon day was rounded off by the screening of the Breaking 2 documentary surrounding Eliud Kipchoge's 2-hour marathon pursuit.
Sunday stood under the classic credo – If you don't run, you cheer. We got together at Bülowstrasse to cheer for everyone taking part in the marathon, trying to give them the final push to the finish line. Supported by a massive Teufel truck and the sound selects of Bafouboy, Dennis Branko and DJ Stickle not even the rain could take away hours of block-partying from us.
After taking a minute to rest and regain some energy, everybody got together once again, this time to swing a hip and show their medal at Prince Charles to end the BTG weekend properly.
Big up to everyone coming out to our Pop Up Store, the Shake Out, the marathon, cheering point or afterparty – we love you!
